Additional Rental Options

The William E. Urschel Pavilion is home to state-of-the-art lighting and sound that are available with your rental. All reservations come with white lights. You have the option of adding color or multi-color lights to your reservation.

The sound system gives you the capability to play music over a disc or mobile device as well as use a microphone to make announcements. The sound systems projects into both the Indiana Beverage Activity Center and the William E. Urschel Pavilion. 

Another option for your event is a portable stage. This stage is made up of 4'x4' squares that can be configured any way you like.

All events require at least one security officer. Events with alcohol require two security officers and barricades.


Lafayette Street

Rate $185.00
The Lafayette Street corridor offers additional space for crowds, food tents or supply vendors. The road space makes a seamless connection between the Porter Health Amphitheater and the William E. Urschel Pavilion. The street also has build-in ten anchors available for securing down tents rented through Valpo Parks.
You have the option to close Lafayette St. to vehicular traffic during your reservation. Events using both the amphitheater and the pavilion will not have to pay an additional fee for the closure of Lafayette ST. Events using only one facility will have to pay the $185 fee if they choose to close Lafayette St.
 

Barricades


Rate $225
Barricades can be placed around a reserved facility you are using for your reservation. For events serving alcohol, barricades are mandatory. Valpo Parks staff provides setup and tear down.


Tents - Tables - Chairs


All tents, tables and chairs are only available through Valpo Parks preferred provider. You can, however, bring in EZ-UP tents with anchor weights. Tent stakes are not permitted in any lawn area of Central Park Plaza. Additional size tents are available upon request.

Security


Security officers are required for all events at Central Park Plaza. Events serving alcohol require two security officers. Weddings and private events under the Urschel Pavilion require one officer. Security is scheduled through the Valpo Parks Administration Office. The officer is paid by the renter with cash on the day of the event. Security officers are scheduled an hour before the event through the clean-up. Rates are $30 per hour.
